Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
Main study goals:
(i) to be acquainted with actual progress in this mathematical discipline,
(ii) to extend needed theoretical knowledge with emphasized orientation to its applica-bility,
(iii) to increase communication ability of specialists in different branches.
With regard to professional orientation of students learning themes modification is offered to fulfill presented aims.

Regression and correlation analysis. Statistical hypothesis testing.
Reliability theory. Stochastic processes. Simulation methods.
Throughout the course each student will prepare a project solving a
particular problem related to his study program. The topic is chosen
based on mutual agreement of the students' advisor and the lecturer of
this course.

V rámci předmětu student zpracuje elaborát řešící dílčí problém, který je součástí
jeho studia. Téma je stanoveno po dohodě školitele a přednášejícího.
Předmětem zkoušky je obhajoba předložené práce.
