Other requirements

Systematic individual work prior to and after the laboratory lessons is necessary.

Prerequisities

Subject has no prerequisities.

Co-requisities

Subject has no co-requisities.

Subject syllabus:

The subject follows the theoretical course of Physics I and is aimed at mechanics and thermodynamics. 1. Introduction to the devices used in the laboratory, safety precautions and to the methodology of processing of the particular experimental tasks. 2. Measurement of moment of inertia of a flywheel using the equation of motion 3. Measurement of radius of inertia of a physical pendulum 4. Measurement of the acceleration of gravity from the period of oscillations of a mathematical pendulum 5. Measurement of shear modulus from the oscillation period of a torsion pendulum 6. Measurement of surface tension of the liquid from the capillary elevation and by a lying drop method 7. Measurement of dynamic viscosity of liquids in Stokes viscometer 8. Measuring the speed of sound from the phase delay in the acoustic pipe 9. Measurement of a frequency of a slightly out of tune tunning fork using the beats 10. Measurement of Poisson's ratio by Clement-Desormes method
