The course is oriented on basic skills in document preparation in LaTeX typographic system.

Summary

The course is oriented on basic skills in document preparation in LaTeX typographic system allowing to obtain scientific documents on profesional level, especially for the documents with mathemati formulas. The role of practical exercising on students' own laptops is stressed. The exercises include a work on student tasks as laboratory reports, semestral projects, etc.

Subject syllabus:

- Introduction to LaTeX and TeX, Linux and Windows freeware implementations, basic information on LaTeX file structure, instalation - Design of document typography, document classes, basic formating operation - Mathematic typography in LaTeX, additional packages for mathematical typography support - Perparation and design of lists, theorems - Tables and arrays, multiple columns - Cross-referencing, organization of large documents - Graphics and its including into LaTeX documents, freeware graphics editors - Other possibilities how to use LaTeX>: preparation of presentations and posters
