Summary

Physics I is the first part of the basic physics course that provides comprehensive overview of basic knowledge about physical bodies, particles and their interaction. This course covers the mechanics of particles and rigid solids, mechanical oscillations and waves, molecular physics, kinetic theory of gases and thermodynamics.

Subject syllabus:

Kinematics of a particle: the basic kinematic quantities, linear and circular movements. - Dynamics of a particle: Newton's laws of motion, work, power, energy. - Mechanical systems of particles and rigid bodies: physical center, center of gravity, translational, rotary and compound motion, pulsed sentence, Steiner's theorem. - Mechanical vibrations and waves: undamped, damped and forced vibrations, superposition of vibrations, progressive and standing waves, interference, spreading waves in space, acoustics, Doppler effect. - Fluid Mechanics: Statics and dynamics of ideal fluids and gases flow real fluids. - Molecular Physics: thermal expansion materials, calorimetric equations, transfer heat. - The kinetic theory of gases: equation of state of ideal and real gas, reversible happening in an ideal gas.
