The objective is to teach the students how to analyze, evaluate and model the multiphysics problems related to application of physics in engineering problems.

The lessons are oriented on practical application of physical modeling and simulation using commercialy available software packages (as COMSOL).

Subject syllabus:

• Survey of modern methods used for multiphysics modeling • Formulation of applied physics problems using PDE • Introduction to multiphysics modeling systems • Typical boundary conditions and their implementation • COMSOL and MATLAB cooperation • Basic problems in electrostatics and magnetostatics • Low frequency electromagnetism • Basic problems concerning heat transferr • Basic problems in optics and electromagntic wave propagation • Structural mechanics problems • Acoustics problems • Fluid dynamics problems • Strategy of multiphysics models • Simulation of dynamics in applied physics problems
