Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Student who completed the course can define and characterize the physical chemistry as a scientific discipline, knows all the fundamental physical-chemical laws. Student gains knowledge in description of the chemical processes from the point of view of thermodynamics and kinetics and is able to apply this knowledge in the solution of particular given chemical processes.

Summary

The subject is focused on teaching the fundamentals of physical chemistry students are going to expand on in following courses – e.g. Analytical Chemistry, Introduction to Quantum Physic and Chemistry and subjects focused to methods of the of Nanomaterials preparation. The course is going to provide knowledge on chemical thermodynamics, non-electrolyte and electrolyte system equilibriums, and equilibriums of homogeneous and heterogeneous chemical reactions. The second part of the course is focused on the description of the kinetics and theories chemical reactions mechanisms.
