Students will be acquainted with the technology of nanoparticles preparation, research areas and development of new nanoparticles types and get acquainted with their practical use.

Summary

The course focuses on an overview of nanoparticles preparation procedures. Major emphasis is placed on the nanoparticles preparation based on inorganic compounds. Mentioned are the procedures for the inorganic and organic nanoparticles preparation with the biological processes. Attention is paid to biological effects of nanoparticles on human organism.

Subject syllabus:

1. Introduction. 2. Nanoparticles - definition. 3. Nanoparticles technology of preparation. 4. Physico-chemical aspect of the nanomaterials (nanoparticles) preparation. 5. Chemical reaction of nanomaterials (nanoparticles) preparation. 6. Preparation of nanoparticles from the solid. 7. Mechanical procedures of nanoparticles preparation. 8. Ultrasound techniques. Test. 9. Preparation of nanoparticles from the gas and liquid phases. 10. Preparation of nanoparticles from the liquid phases. 11. Bionanotechnology. 12. Nanobiotechnology. 13. Methods of hybrid nanoparticles preparation. 14. Invited lectures. Teoretical exercise: Exercises during the semester are realized through the two-hour blocks. 1.-2. Introduction – semester work and project assignment. 3.-12. Teoretical aspects of nanoparticals preparation by the sol-gel, precipitation, mechanochemical methods, ultrasonic synthesis, hydrothermal synthesis and biosynthesis. Teoretical a practical calculations. 13.-14. Presentation of semester work. Consultation.
