Summary
The subject "Basics of Toxicology" serves to familiarize students with basic problems of toxicity of chemical compounds, mechanisms of entry, absorption, distribution, biotransformation and excretion of xenobiotics from the organism. The basic toxicokinetic and toxicodynamic concepts used in the literature are defined. In detail, toxicologically relevant inorganic and organic compounds are discussed. part of the subject is focused on current legislation and basic overview of labor safety rules in chemical laboratory, as well as principles of first aid in intoxication.
