The main target of the Laboratory of optical spectroscopy is obtain practical skills in the field of spectroscopy, systematic and independent solution problems. Students will use research laboratory equipment and setups. It includes to learn of experimental data processing. Students will practice presenting of their results in the form of presentation and laboratory measurement reports.

Students will practice presenting of their results in the form of presentation and laboratory measurement reports. Laboratory training include measurement of unknown samples based on dielectrics, anisotropic materials, semiconductors, liquids, periodic systems, polarization components etc.

Learning of practical ability for measurement on spectroscopic instruments, understanding of practical data processing, and preparing a report from measurement describing basic condition of measurement, methods of data processing, and discussion of results.

Subject syllabus:
Laboratory training include measurement of unknown samples based on dielectrics, anisotropic materials, semiconductors, liquids, periodic systems, polarization components etc. It is based on the experimental setups:
1. Spectroscopic ellipsometry of Mueller matrices
2. Reflection and transmission spectroscopy in the rage visible, near UV and near infrared.
3. Infrared spectroscopy in mid and far spectral range (FTIR)
4. Terahertz time domain spectroscopy
5. Microscopy of Mueller matrices
