Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The aim of the course is to deepen student knowledge in the field of chemical and physico-chemical and biological methods of synthesis and preparation of nanoparticles, nanomaterials and nanostructured materials. Students will understand the principles of individual processes and gain the ability to apply them for different types of nanomaterials, nanoparticles and nanostructures.

Summary
In the course students will gain knowledge in the field of physico-chemical and biological methods of synthesis and preparation of nanomaterials and nanostructured materials. These are different types of gas and liquid preparations, including the use of biological processes. The student will deepen his / her understanding of the principles of the individual processes. He / she will acquire ability to apply these processes to prepare different types of nanomaterials and nanostructures also in subsequent practical exercises on this subject.

1. Introduction to the synthesis and preparation of nanomaterials, nanoparticles and nanostructured materials
2. Classification of methods of preparation of nanomaterials, nanoparticles and nanostructured materials
3. Methods of preparation in the gas phase - condensation of nanoparticles in inert gas
4. Methods of preparation in the gas phase - chemical vapor deposition
5. Methods of preparation in the liquid phase - sol-gel methods
6. Methods of preparation in the liquid phase - colloidal methods and microemulsion methods
7. Methods of preparation in the liquid phase - hydrothermal synthesis
8. Methods of preparation in the liquid phase - coating of surfaces
9. Self-assembling monolayers
10. Supercritical technology of nanoparticle preparation - theory and principles
11. Supercritical technology of nanoparticle preparation - non-reactive and reactive methods, applications
12. Preparation of functional nanomaterials
13. Green chemistry, principles of green chemistry, role of biophase in chemical synthesis of nanoparticles, nanoparticle biosynthesis, types of biomass, conditions of nanoparticle biosynthesis, examples of biosynthetic inorganic nanoparticles and their application.
14. Biomineralized and nature-made structures and their application in nanotechnologies, biomineralization and its principles, examples of biomineralized structures.
