Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The aim of the course is to deepen the students’ knowledge in the field of chemical kinetics by expanding the theoretical knowledge to the solving of more complicated reactions such as simultaneous or chain reactions in various environments. The effect of the environment on reaction rate as well as mathematical expression of this effect in basic reaction rate equations. During the lectures, the students are going to get acquainted with the importance and principals of catalysis, both homogeneous and heterogeneous, using practical examples. At the same time, the students are going to use their acquired theoretical knowledge while working on practical assignments in the subsequent laboratory class.

Teaching methods

Experimental work in labs
