Summary

Studium šíření elektromagnetických vln v různých prostředích: homogenních, nehomogenních, ztrátových, izotropních a anizotropních. Zvláštní pozornost je věnována jevům na rozhraních mezi různými prostředími. Specifikace maticového formalismu pro popis interakce elektromagnetické vlny s gyrotropními a bigyrotropními látkami. Určení komplexní matice systému a její význam pro popis reflexních a transmisních jevů a procesu vlnovedení. Modelování a popis interakce elektromagnetické vlny s planárními strukturami a 1D a 2D mřížkami. Generace plasmonových a evanescentních vln a jejich využití v senzorice a diagnostice.

Subject syllabus:

Propagation of electromagnetic waves in homogeneous, inhomogeneous, absorbing, isotropic, and anisotropic media. The attention is devoted to interface effects between different media. Specification of 4x4 matrix algebra for plane wave interaction with gyrotropic and bi-gyrotropic materials. The complex matrix determination and its application to reflection, transmission, and waveguiding. Plane wave interaction with planar, 1D, and 2D structures modeling. Generation of plasmon and evanescent waves and application in sensorics and diagnostics.
