Students will be introduced to basic chemical and physical properties of carbon materials as well as the newly discovered properties of those materials as magnetic and optical properties.

The subject contains following topics: 1.Basic groups of carbon, 2.Structural characterization of carbons, 3. Chemical properties of graphitic, semicrystalline and amorphous carbonaceous materials, 4.Physical properties of carbons, 5. Properties of diamond and thin diamond films, 6.Characterization of nanocarbons, 7.Some types of nanocarbons preparation. 1. Physical properties. 2. Chemical properties.
