Subject syllabus:
To clasify fundamental types of crystal structures and bonds.
To demonstrate fundamental thermal properties of crystals.
To explicate elastic and plastic deformation of crystals.
To clasify simple alloys and the structural ordering of alloys.
To characterise fundamental concepts from thermodynamics of crystal structures – phase balance and phase diagrams.
